I attended the remembrance service at It-Tokk, Victoria in the anticipation of being able to reflect upon the tragic loss of life in war and to pray for the hope of peace in the future. Sadly, the rain forced a move into the nearby Exhibition Hall where as many as possible crammed in to follow the service.

Unfortunately, any semblance of worship or opportunity to quietly absorb the messages of peace and reconciliation being expressed was completely destroyed by the continual flash of cameras from three photographers who fidgeted and moved about throughout the whole service.

They insisted on taking photographs even during the prayers, which I found totally shocking and prevented any chance of contemplation or meditation.

I am horrified at the lack of respect shown and hope that, in future, something will be done to curb this appalling interference in a solemn act of worship.
