It seems that the ‘Egrant’ fabricated story was not enough for Nationalist Party exponents, such as Simon Busuttil and Jason Azzopardi, in their desperate attempt to, at least, dent the Prime Minister’s credibility and popularity among thegreat majority of Maltese and Gozitan citizens.

First we had Busuttil repeating the ‘Egrant’ frame-up attempt by alleging once again that ‘Egrant’ belonged to Joseph Muscat, when the 15-month meticulous investigation by Magistrate Aaron Bugeja exonerated the Prime Minister and his wife from ‘Egrant’s ownership.

Now we have Azzopardi calling the Prime Minister “corrupt” and implying that Muscat made himself rich by receiving ‘kickbacks’. He also claims Muscat ispaying €70,000 a year to send his two daughters to study in an English school.

Azzopardi has believed this story, which an anonymous commentator had posted on the social media. And without a simple check, Azzopardi repeated this barefaced lie, just as he and his colleagues had believed the ‘Egrant’ fable.

Had Azzopardi contacted any parent of children who attend San Anton School – I have two grandchildren there – he would have been informed that Muscat’s children attend this school in the limits of Mġarr and not one in England.

After this “dirty lie”, Azzopardi – of ‘Fekruna’, ‘Lowenbrau’ and Spinola’ fame – should be ashamed to show his face in public. Perhaps he will consider suing me for libel.

As May 25, 2019 looms closer, expect similar “fake stories” to increase from PN politically--desperate people. Which would increase the Maltese people’s resolve to keep them entrenched where they belong – in Opposition.
