Floriana effected their second coaching change of the 2018-19 season when they named Guido Ugolotti as their new head coach after parting ways with Luis Oliveira.

The Greens have so far experienced a very disappointing campaign as four defeats from their last five matches had left them ninth in the standings and well adrift of their projected top four position in the Premier League standings.

On Sunday, Floriana finally picked up their first win when battling past Mosta 1-0 but the performance of the team left much to be desired forcing president Riccardo Gaucci to effect a change of leadership.

Oliveira, who had only been in the job for less than two months after replacing Nicholas Chiesa last September, struggled to leave his mark on the team and has been relieved of his duties.

On Tuesday, Gaucci started his search for a new coach and has reached an agreement with Ugolotti to take over the team until the end of the season.

Ugolotti is an experienced coach who have worked at several Italian clubs, including Teramo, Casertana and Benevento.

The 60-year-old will start his job on Thursday when he takes charge of his first training session.

His first match in charge could not be more difficult as they face league leaders Gżira United on November 24.
