Much is made of the increase in the number of tourists coming to our islands… but how many return? I’d be rich if I received a euro for every tourist I have heard in my eight years here complaining about not being able to get on a bus or not being able to walk from Mellieħa village to the Seabank Hotel with a buggy as the bags of recyclable waste are not collected before 4pm.

During the summer months rubbish should be collected through the night – it’s cooler for the workers and there is less traffic. It’s not rocket science.
