Craft beer celebration
Malta’s first-ever national craft beer festival will be held this weekend, opening tonight at Fort St Elmo.
It will feature a line-up of over 50 brews from 14 breweries in 10 countries, with a selection that includes India pale ale, pale ale, pale lagers, wheat and rice ales, sour ales, amber, red and dark ales, and Belgian ales.
Taking place in the surrounds of Fort St Elmo, the festival will also feature street food, as well as entertainment from the Beangrowers, No Snow/No Alps, Areola Treat, the Ranch, the Busker, and Xarulu’. A number of workshops are also open to the public, including a masterclass called The Brew on Friday at 8pm, and the Beer Hop on Saturday at 7.30pm on how to get the best from your home-brewing kit.
The Malta Craft Beer Festival opens today and runs until Sunday from 7pm onwards at Fort St Elmo in Valletta. Tickets, which include a festival glass and tokens, can be bought at the door.
