Balzan are in the process of revamping their squad ahead of the 2018/2019 BOV Premier League campaign, after bringing in six players.

The Reds brought in former Ħamrun Spartans goalkeeper Steve Sultana, who is also part of the national team pool to replace Ivan Janjusevic. 

At the back, Balzan strengthened their lines with the acquisition of Ricardo Correa who last year was on the books of Sliema Wanderers. Bruno Oliveira and Clive Brincat were the ones to make space in the defensive department. 

In the central department, the Maltese side made bold moves by parting ways with veteran players such as Ryan Fenech and skipper Paul Fenech and the young Terence Agius.

Ryan Fenech moved to Sliema Wanderers while Agius and Paul Fenech agreed a deal with Birkirkara. 

They were replaced with other Maltese counterparts in Dale Camilleri, who featured for the Spartans in the previous campaign and has been also part of the national team recently together with the promising Neil Frendo who is currently part of the U-19 national team.

Moreover, Balzan acquired the services of midfielder Nenad Sljvic of FK Napredac Krusevac, with whom he played almost 100 games in the Serbian top-flight.

The 33-year old brings in bag of experience at the club, having also featured for FK Rostov in the Russian top-flight back in 2009.

Up front, Balzan signed Andrija Majdevac from FK Indjija of Serba. The 21-year old forward was also part of the Serbia U-17 national team recently. 

After three years of disappointment in which they lost the FA Trophy final and came close to win the title before losing their grip in the final days, Micovic is hoping that this inject of new players will bring a breath of fresh air in the team which will make them more competitive.
