The Economy Ministry has put new procedures in place to ensure that all overseas visits are carried out with full accountability, following the National Audit Office's report that minister Chris Cardona had failed to provide documentation about his expenses.

In a Times Talk interview that will appear on Wednesday, civil service head Mario Cutajar stresses that the amount spent by Dr Cardona on his trip to Monaco is not the key issue.

He also discusses his views on persons of trust, direct orders and the size of the civil service.

Watch the full Times Talk interview as from Wednesday on the Times of Malta website.
