A couple's wedding procession is usually made up of a fleet of luxury white ribbon-laden cars and pomp. And pre-wedding shoots normally leave no stone unturned to make sure the couple looks as sprightly as possible.
Which explains why motorists driving through traffic-choked Msida yesterday found it very amusing to see what appeared to be a prospective bride and groom waiting for the bus, sweating in the scorching heat.
A picture taken by a car passenger shows the woman lifting her white dress while the man is holding a groom's jacket. Another man, possibly a photographer, is seen inspecting the bus schedule.
"Who the hell would be waiting for a bus in a wedding dress in this unbearable heat? Maybe they were doing a photo shoot. I mean, couldn't they have booked a taxi or shot the photos somewhere close? All the motorists driving past found it very amusing," a witness told Times of Malta.
Temperatures yesterday reached almost 40°C in what has been the hottest day of the year so far.
