John Cassar White has been appointed chairman of Bank of Valletta by the government.

Mr Cassar White, a  financial analyst, was chairman of Malta Drydocks up to 2008 and more recently worked as a management consultant. He was also a lecturer in business studies in Mcast.

He succeeds Frederick Mifsud Bonnici at BOV.

The government has a 23 percent shareholding at Bank of Valletta, with the right to appoint the chairman.
