Portfolio Manager

An AIFM will be set up in Malta over the next couple of months and will be split on two sub funds. A vacancy for a Portfolio Manager is available within the local setup. Main duties and responsibilities include:

  • participation in setting and implementation of Strategy in various Portfolios wrapped within  AIF Funds and Managed Accounts;
  • daily monitoring of funds in order to ensure that all funds are adhering to the Investment Policy and Restrictions as provided by the relevant Directive and Offering Documents;
  • daily portfolio management activities such as liquidity calculation, NAV estimates, and upkeep of share registers of UCITS Funds;
  • liaising with the Administrator, Sub-Managers, Banks and Clients in order to meet all Funds requirements;
  • ensuring that the Management Company is following regulatory and administrative procedures, and reporting in a timely manner as stipulated by the governing regulations;
  • in charge of organising, preparing agendas for and taking minutes of the Investment Committee Meetings and Board of Directors Meetings;
  • preparation of various statistics and analysis for various stakeholders, including auditors, administrators, and clients;
  • resolution of issues that arise from time-to-time with the management and operations of Funds;

This position calls for a proactive and meticulous individual with excellent interpersonal and organisation skills. Applicants should possess a University degree in a related field, CFA is a plus.
Experience within a similar role will be considered an asset. Preference will be given to candidates who are approved by MFSA to work as a Portfolio Manager or have the necessary qualifications and practical experience which will lead to approval by MFSA.
