Business Development Manager

One of Malta’s leading Law Firms is looking to employ a Business Development Manager.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Actively handling individual leads in the region
  • Knowing the market through research and keeping in touch with the market and the company's service offering
  • Managing and attending conferences and roadshows
  • Identifying, planning and attending conferences
  • Maintaining regular contact with contacts made through conferences- encouraging intermediaries to become introducers and prospective clients to engage us for our services
  • Liaising with our Marketing department to ensure contacts for delegates have been inputted on our database and providing feedback on campaign performance to ensure the desired lead generation in upcoming events
  • Becoming an active member on local committees and attending events which address Regional contacts
  • Ensuring social media such as the company CRM, company website and similar are regularly updated through direct contact with the Marketing Department
  • Ensuring quality of service to prospective clients and intermediaries by Private Clients Advisory team through ongoing monitoring which ascertains that:
  • Requests are being well handled – replied to promptly and in a timely manner
  • Queries are being tackled professionally and the organization’s expectations for quality and productivity are being met
  • Maintaining an avid knowledge particularly on any relevant programmes and any other products which may be attractive to the market.
  • Keeping abreast with any developments in the region and economy, as well as conducting a regular competition study and analysis to identify opportunities where the firm may expand its client reach. This requires close liaison with the Product Development Team and Research & Development Team to develop any new products and opportunities tailor-made to the market

Key Performance Indicators

  • Attainment of targets set for the regional team by actively monitoring leads assigned to the team, converting such into engagements, on-boarding new intermediaries and cross-selling other services
  • Identification of new business opportunities in the region through for example, engagements from new territories
  • Proposals to Senior Management on new and recommended business development strategies based on knowledge and research of the region
  • Achievement of professionalism and standards of quality within the team by ensuring the team is working in line with company’s mission statement which highlights service, knowledge, excellence and quality. Examples of such measures include maintenance of an updated database and timely and appropriate replies to clients

Key Attributes

  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Outlook, CRM, database and information systems
  • Experience in a professional sales environment
