During their two-year presence in Malta, the French army was billeted in Valletta and the surrounding fortifications, especially during the blockade which took place between September 1798 and October 1800.

Members of the Historical Re-enactment Group of Malta’s French 19th Infantry of the Line shall recreate a garrison life day at Fort St Angelo to portray the French soldier of the period on Sunday. Visitors shall be able to observe soldiers in the daily chores in their barracks, as well as around the fort.

Fort St Angelo will be open at normal admission prices and during the normal admission times on Sunday.
