For 140 centuries, humans and dogs have shared their lives together. Throughout these years, dogs have helped humans in their hunting and their herding. They have served as guides, protectors of the household, garbage collectors, power for transportation, comrades in war. Dogs have functioned as comforting companions and have been trained as athletes to amuse us and aids to psychotherapy.
Many people from Asian countries and the Middle East think dogs are cowardly, dirty, disease ridden, dangerous and unreliable, which is not the truth. In other places, especially in Europe, they are viewed as loyal, faithful, noble, intelligent, courageous and sociable.
