St Dorothy’s school in Żebbuġ has inaugurated a new sports and recreational complex.

The complex covers around 10,000 square metres behind the senior school and includes an outdoor volleyball court, indoor gym, 25-metre, seven-lane swimming pool, two five-a-side synthetic turf football pitches, a 200-metre running track and outdoor athletics areas for javelin, shot put, high jump, long jump and discus.

All outdoor areas are floodlit and have shower and changing room facilities. The facilities are open to the public after school hours through a membership scheme.

The inauguration ceremony, which was led by auxiliary bishop Joseph Galea Curmi, took place on Monday in the presence of mother general of the Dorothean congregation, Sr Sao Ribeiro, the Sisters of St Dorothy, the schools' leadership teams, various distinguished guests, teachers, parents, students and former students.
