Air Malta will start operating a twice weekly service every Monday and Friday to Egypt’s capital, Cairo, this September.

This service will continue operating throughout winter.

"This route, which is being introduced after an absence of 12 years, will continue to strengthen our presence in North Africa following the successful re-introduction of similar services to Tunis and Morocco.

"We are working hard to ensure a similar success and chose the flight timings to offer good connectivity between Cairo and Europe’s main cities through Malta. The introduction of this route follows our current growth strategy to connect better the Maltese Islands”, said Air Malta’s chairman, Charles Mangion.

Located on the banks of River Nile, Cairo is one of the most sought-after destinations in the world.
