Fort Ricasoli to be turned into a heritage park

Plans are in hand to develop Fort Ricasoli into a heritage and cultural park based on the island’s history and village life under a project conceived by the Secretariat for Tourism.

The scheme will involve an investment by a private firm of several millions and also the operation and management of the entire project, which will be a major attraction for the Maltese and tourists, incorporating entertainments, enactments and leisure and catering facilities.

One organisation that has already shown a marked interest in developing the fort is the English firm of Attraction Projects World-Wide Ltd. This company has already set up similar attractions in the United Kingdom, including Blackpool last year, France, Germany, Italy and Denmark.
