A talk, ‘Entangled Islands’, hosted by Spazju Kreattiv and Malta Cafe Scientifique, will take place on Wednesday, May 8.

Entanglement is one of the most mysterious and astonishing features of quantum mechanics. There is no doubt that Einstein would have been amazed to see how what he famously called “spooky action at a distance” is now the basis of completely new technologies.

In this talk, Prof. André Xuereb from the Department of Physics at the University of Malta’s Faculty of Science will introduce the concept of entanglement, starting from scratch. explain how this fantastic new tool can help give humanity super-secure communication systems, super-fast computers and teleportation.

The lecture will be held on Wednesday at 7.30pm at Studio B, Music Room, Spazju Kreattiv, Valletta. Doors open at 7pm and seats are on a first-come, first-served basis. More information can be found on www.facebook.com/ Malta.Cafe.Scientifique or by calling 2122 3200.
