Music meets drama in an adaptation of Oscar Wilde’s classical tale The Selfish Giant. Hosted by Toi Toi and the Manoel Theatre, the performances, aimed at children aged six to 11, will be held between Friday and Sunday at the Manoel Studio Theatre, Valletta.

The plot centres around a group children who used to play in a giant’s garden every afternoon after coming from school. It was a lovely, large garden with soft green grass. Here and there, over the grass, stood beautiful flowers which, in the springtime, broke out into delicate blossoms of every colour imaginable.

The birds sat on the trees and sang so sweetly that the children used to stop their games to listen to them. “How happy we are here!” they said to each other.

And then, one day, the giant came back...

There will be shows on Friday at 9.30am and 11am, on Saturday at 3pm and 4.40pm and on Sunday at 10am, 11.30am and 1pm. The performances are also open to schools. For tickets, visit www.teatrumanoel.com.mt.
