A solo art exhibition by Walter Coccetta entitled Malta Light 2 – Accadimenti will be inaugurated in the Italian artist’s presence at the Italian Cultural Institute, Valletta, today and will run until June 6.

Coccetta has been exhibiting for over 50 years, with over 100 exhibitions held around the world, including the US, China and many other European countries, including Malta. Coccetta’s first exhibition in Malta was held at the Mediterranean Conference Centre, Valletta, in 1998. The current exhibition is a continuation of Malta Light 1 held in Valletta in 2011, and at the 54th Venice Biennale.

In this exhibition he is displaying about 30 works, including large ones, representative of the emotional phases that have characterised his artistic career over the past 20 years.

The Malta Light 2 exhibition will be inaugurated by Culture Minister Owen Bonnici today at 7pm, in the artist’s presence at the Italian Cultural Institute, St George’s Square, Valletta. To register to attend the opening, e-mail segreteria.iiclavalletta@esteri.it.

It will be open to the public until June 6 as follows: Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday: from 9.15am to 1pm and from 2.30pm to 5pm; Thursday from 9.15am to 1pm and from 2.30pm to 6.30pm; and Friday from 9.15am to 2pm.
