Support unit for workers’ cooperatives

The government is planning to set up a support unit for workers’ cooperatives in a short time.

The number of cooperatives in Malta is constantly on the increase. The latest to be set up was formed by owners of refuse trucks, he said.

Archbishop on father’s role

The role of the father within the family is “of incomparable importance”, Archbishop Joseph Mercieca said yesterday.

“The father should recognise the fact that his contribution to the raising of his children in the family, which in God’s plan is the first school in exercising one’s humanity, is a very important role,” he said.

The Archbishop was speaking during Mass at Mosta parish church on the occasion of the feast of St Joseph the Worker.

He continued: “The father must not mistakenly believe his only role is that of earning the daily bread of the family and nothing else.
