I refer to the TVM news report last Thursday regarding the appointment of three new judges and three new magistrates.

The Prime Minister is quoted as having said that “the government has always respected the decision of the court”.

I believe the Prime Minister has made this claim on numerous occasions but I cannot reconcile this with the government’s actions regarding the decisions of the Rent Regulation Board and of the Court of Appeal evicting the G.M. Fra Antoine de Paule Band Club from my family’s premises in Paola Square, Paola.

In that case, the government passed legislation to rescind the sentence of the court, effectively giving our premises to the band club without due compensation.
