Reading Joe Vella’s ‘rebuke’ (‘Confidence’, April 17) for daring to question the mechanism of Maltese ‘democracy’ made me think that, in his haste to chastise the ignorant ‘foreigner’, he totally missed my point.

If he looked across the page from his letter and read Michael Bonnici’s letter he may see it is not only people from western democracies that have questions about his beloved leader’s ‘governance’.

I ask: are there no regulatory bodies or are they all ‘appointed’ by the almighty in Castille?
