CAMILLERI – CHEVALIER MAJOR RAPHAEL JOSEPH CAMILLERI has passed away on Saturday, April 27, after a sudden illness comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his wife Vera Maria Camilleri (also known as Gussy), his son Nicholas Cecil Camilleri and his wife Margarita Alexandrovna Savitskaya, his daughter Francesca Alice Guglin and her husband Dr. Charles Arnold Guglin (also known as Chuck), his grandchildren Maximillian Alexander Cremona and Damien Constantine Camilleri, his brother Major Anthony Achille Camilleri (also known as Tony) and his wife Mary Hilda Camilleri, his sister Marie Therese Debono (also known as Matty), his sister-in-law Lina Camilleri and his numerous nephews and nieces. Funeral arrangements will be announced at a later date. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

De BONO. On 28th April, EMVIN aged 65, passed away to join his heavenly parents, leaving his loving wife Michelle, son Jordan, brother Stephen and wife Debbie, sisters Joan and Myriam and husband Massimo and all his nephews and nieces whom he loved so very much to celebrate his life. He was a man who loved to love and enjoy life through family and travel. Emvin, who although parted early, lived a full life, he was a loyal son, a passionate brother, a dedicated father and husband and a kind uncle, he was deeply loved and will be greatly missed. Celebration of his life will be held at the Nativity of the Virgin Mary, Naxxar Parish Church on Friday, May 3 at 2pm. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

DEBATTISTA. On April 28, at Mater Dei Hospital, ANTHONY, of Msida, aged 73, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his great loss his brothers and sisters Josephine and her husband Charles, Paul and his wife Lilian, George and his wife Helen, Catherine and her husband John, Doreen and her husband Joe, and Alfrida widow of his brother Mario, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral cortege leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow, Tuesday, April 30, at 7.30am for Msida parish church where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 8am followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, would be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

GAUCI. On April 27, at Mater Dei Hospital, CHARLES, of Vittoriosa, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his great loss his beloved wife Lourdes, his twin daughters Rita and Mariella and their respective spouses, his sisters Mary, Rita, brothers Anthony, Joseph and Vincent, his grandchildren, nephews and nieces, relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital, today, Monday, April 29, at 1.30pm for St Lawrence parish church, Vittoriosa, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 2.30pm, followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

PORTELLI. On April 28, at Mater Dei Hospital, CENSINA, of Sliema, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her great loss her husband Lino, her son Prof. Sergio Portelli and his wife Dr Lorraine Portelli, her grandsons Marco and Matteo, her brothers Alfred and his wife Carmen, and Charles and his wife Rita, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral cortège leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow, Tuesday, April 30, at 1pm for St Gregory’s parish church Sliema, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 2pm followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, would be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

PORTELLI. On April 27, LAWRENCE, widower of Mary, aged 83, an ex-teacher and RTK employee, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his children Paul, John and his wife Geraldine, Rita and her husband Dr Robert Vella Baldacchino, Maria and her husband Godwin Attard, Anna and her husband Terence Norris, Josette and her husband Dr Mauro Buttigieg, his grandchildren Rachel, Reuben, Christine, Matthew, Alexander, Jonathan, David and Thomas, his sister Connie, his wife’s relatives and their families. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow, Tuesday, April 30, at 8am for Mater Boni Consilii church, Paceville, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 8.30am followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, would be appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

VELLA. On April 28, at Mater Dei Hospital, JOSEPH PAUL (aka JP) of Birkirkara, aged 95, former teacher at Paola Technical Institute and former headmaster of the Boys’ Secondary Schools of Żebbuġ and Paola, passed away peacefully after a short illness comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his great loss his devoted wife Theresa (aka Tessie) nèe Saliba, his nieces Christine and her husband Hans Georg, and Elspeth and her husband Pierre, his sister-in-law Imelda, his brother-in-law David and his wife Mary, other relatives and friends. Mass præsente cadavere will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 1, at 8.30am at the Carmelite parish church, Fleur-de-Lys Road, Birkirkara, followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Puttinu Cares Foundation will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest. The family wish to thank all the staff at the Day Care Unit for their dedicated care.
