The Malta Society of Arts (MSA) is soon to host its annual fundraising dinner in aid of promising students across various artistic fields.

All funds raised during the event will once again support the Special Projects Programme, an initiative established by the committee of the Malta Society of Arts that grants scholarships to students showing aptitude for artistic work or artists with special needs.

As Malta’s oldest arts organisation, the MSA has supported local art and artists for many years, particularly through the Special Projects Programme which has now entered its 13th edition.

“MSA is a non-profit organisation and our aim is to promote the arts and local crafts,” explains MSA’s president, Adrian Mamo. “Over the years hundreds of students have benefitted from the funds donated on the occasion of these dinners.”

Following on from last year’s success, the 2019 dinner will again be held inside the Grand Marquee at Villa Arrigo in Naxxar, with five delicious courses all included alongside a welcome aperitif, canapes and free-flowing wine and beverages.

Carefully selected live music will also add to the ambience of the evening, as well as a fun-filled raffle, and possibly another impromptu musical performance by Mr Mamo himself, which was a highlight of last year’s event.

Beyond the lavish meal and exquisite entertainment, the dinner is also a much-anticipated annual event for arts patrons, supporters of young artists, friends of the MSA and art-lovers in general, since it brings together people who have a common love of the arts and a desire to help young artists in need, as MSA manager Joe Scerri highlights. “It is a great occasion to gather all the friends of the MSA, including its committee, members, teachers, students and everyone else who has the MSA at heart, to celebrate the power of the arts.”

The Malta Society of the Arts Annual Fundraising Dinner will be held on May 10 at 7.30pm in the Grand Marquee at Villa Arrigo, Naxxar. Tickets are priced at €39 per person, which includes the five-course meal and all beverages. Tickets must be booked in advance. Ticketing and further information may be found via e-mail on info@artsmalta.org, by calling 2124 4339 or 7924 4339 or online at www.artsmalta.org.
