Heritage Malta, in collaboration with Xagħra local council, is tomorrow organising an open day on the occasion of Xagħra Day. Ta’ Kola Windmill is one of several windmills in Gozo dating back to the Knights’ period. It is the only one on the island that has been restored to its originality and can even be operated. The miller’s workshop still houses the original tools belonging to the last miller. This promises to be a unique attraction in the village.

On the day, three guided tours will be offered at 1.30pm (in Maltese), 2.30pm (in English) and 3.30pm (in Maltese). Following each tour, which lasts approximately 45 minutes, the windmill’s vanes will be rotated – an event not to be missed. During this event, local delicacies particular to the village of Xagħra will be served, including traditionally brewed coffee.

The open day is being held tomorrow from 9am to 5pm (last admission at 4.30pm). Admission is free of charge.  For more information, visit www.heritagemalta.org.
