A Libraries Day celebrating multicultural libraries will be taking place tomorrow from 9.30am to 5.30pm at the Central Public Library in Floriana, hosted in conjunction with Malta Libraries.

The day will feature a number of readings and books in different languages, dances and food from around the world, with a range of activities to suit all ages.

The programme is as follows:

9.30am: Hello! game for all ages on the first floor.

10am-noon: Crafts and themed educational activities for mixed ages on the first floor. One will also be able to experience tastes from around the world, prepared by the Migrant Women Association Malta.

10-11am: Seħer l-Istejjer/The Magic of Stories – animated Maltese reading session for ages four to seven, in collaboration with the National Literacy Agency in the Junior Library.

11am to noon: English reading session for tiny tots in the Junior Library.

Noon-12.30pm: Dances from around the world – watching and learning some steps – in the Junior Library.

12.30pm-2pm: Official book donation to the ‘Multicultural Library’ CPL Pilot Project and Networking Session in the Reference Library, with the participation of a number of embassies, UNHCR Malta and current collaborators who are helping Malta Libraries in its inclusion initiatives.

2.30pm: Czech reading and consultation session in the Junior Library with Milan Haluska.
