The Church celebrates the pinnacle of its liturgical year on Easter Sunday, with celebrations to mark the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Archbishop Charles Scicluna will lead a holy mass at St John's co-Cathedral which we will be live-streaming, thanks to a feed provided by the Curia Communications Office.

Watch the Easter Sunday Mass of the Resurrection of the Lord in the video above. The event begins at 10.30am.

The mass is the culmination of Holy Week celebrations, which on Saturday saw Archbishop Scicluna baptise eight new Catholics during a holy vigil also held in Valletta.

On Sunday morning, towns and villages across Malta and Gozo celebrated the holy day with their traditional Easter Sunday processions, in which statues of the Risen Christ are carried out of churches in celebration.

In Cospicua, the men carrying the statue of the Risen Christ ran through the town's streets as the faithful cheered them on.
