Five young Maltese players from the International Football Academy Malta were recently in Stoke on Trent for an international experience where they trained with several regional clubs from the area, including Stoke City FC Academy and the Stoke City FC Futsal team.

This opportunity was made possible through the ongoing collaboration that exists between International Football Academy Malta and Stoke City FC.

The players who were on this short camp were C.J. Buttigieg and Isen Dimech, of Floriana FC, Mosta’s Nathan Agius, Matthias Conti, of Pietà Hotspurs and Glenden Farrugia, from Birkirkara.

The five young players were chosen by qualified scouts and coaches during the Stoke City FC Summer Camp which was held here in July.

It is interestingly to note that Agius, Farrugia and Conti also form part of the national team set up in their respective age.

During their stay in England, the young players not only took part in training sessions, which were held under the eyes of scouts and coaches of the Stoke City FC’s Academy as well as others from the Midlands, but were also given an insight of the club, watched professional matches and vistited the A Class Academy at Stoke.
