The stretch leading from Mosta to the Mġarr road roundabout, ironically called Main Street, collapsed in some places and needs to be resurfaced if not rebuilt. It seems that while some roads are given a lot of attention by the authorities, others, just a stone’s throw away, are left in shambles.

Unsafe practice

The many construction sites all over the island are becoming more of a hazard with every passing day. In Ibraġ Road, Ta’ l-Ibraġ, a dug-up site was surrounded by a flimsy ‘barrier’. The structure is certainly inadequate to provide the sort of protection pedestrians rightly expect. Does this fall under the Occupational Health and Safety Authority?

Better packaging

Milk company, Benna, should divert some of the efforts it has been making at launching new products to ensure packaging is of good quality. In recent weeks, consumers have complained of leaking milk cartons, causing a mess in supermarkets, grocery shops and even in homes. Consumers expect an explanation but, more importantly, remedial action.

Shameless practice

It seems complaints about illegal parking close to the Kitchen Garden, in Attard have fallen on deaf ears. Some weeks ago, it was reported in this column that delivery trucks could be seen parking illegally while delivering goods at the popular establishment. Yet, despite the report and e-mails from readers to the Kitchen Garden management – which remained unanswered – delivery trucks could still be seen parked there, blocking the way.

Attention needed

Whoever is responsible for the upkeep of ponds at San Anton Gardens is not doing much of a good job. The water in one of the ponds has turned into an unsightly green, suggesting it is stagnant. Such ponds, which have become a rare sight in this country, should be kept in top shape.
