215 contraband high-quality wines were found in a Marsamxett restaurant during an inspection by Customs officers.

The inspection followed investigations by JET - the Joint Enforcement Task Force formed by the Customs and Inland Revenue Departments.

The Customs Department said the investigations showed that the restaurateur was either directly importing contraband wine or buying the wine from somebody importing it without paying tax.
