It’s always the luck of the Irish when St Patrick’s Day falls on a weekend and this year this is what happened. The atmosphere in Republic Square, Valletta, on March 17 was a family-friendly one, with people taking part in the celebrations.

Every festival worth its salt needs to have a little jig and Kersten Graham, The Busker and Gianni & Papps provided the perfect musical atmosphere to get those who attended moving. The event, hosted by radio DJs Oz & Jay, also saw the participation of South Belfast School of Irish Dancing who showcased their talents and provided an interesting insight into the traditional Irish celebrations.

Of course, St Patrick’s Day wouldn’t be complete without the iconic brands Guinness and Jameson Irish Whisky, who set up shop along Old Theatre Street proudly exhibiting their Irish heritage.

All in all, it was a great celebration enjoyed by friends and families in a relaxed fun atmosphere, which after all is what St Patrick’s Day is all about.

Guinness and Jameson Irish Whisky are marketed and distributed in Malta by Farsons Beverage Imports Company Limited.
