Lilian M. Azzopardi has been inducted as a member of the Royal National Academy of Pharmacy of Spain in Madrid.
The diploma and the medal, in the name of the King Felipe VI of Spain, was presented by Benito Del Castillo, academy vice-president, in the presence of Parliamentary Secretary Deo Debattista and Malta's ambassador to Spain Vanni Xuereb.
Prof. Azzopardi delivered a lecture on pharmacy education: merging science and practice.
The Royal National Academy of Pharmacy in Spain was established in 1898 and seeks to incorporate individuals who distinguish themselves through excellence in pharmacy.
It aims to promote research and education in pharmaceutical sciences, advise the government, public administrations, the Spanish Agency of Medicines and scientific institutions on advancements in pharmacy.
Prof. Azzopardi is the head of the Department of Pharmacy at the University of Malta and the President of the European Association of Faculties of Pharmacy.
