Interviewed during the programme XTRA on TVM, Alfred Sant boasted he was the force behind the postponement of a resolution about a proposal to discuss the allegations against Joseph Muscat and his wife, which was planned to be discussed before the 2017 general election.

Sant said he was sure Muscat was not involved in any wrong-doing. He continued by saying that he has full confidence in the Prime Minister’s integrity and never ever had any doubt about his honesty. Only a few weeks ago, Franco Debono accused Muscat of being the most corrupt prime minister that ever existed.

Muscat and his associates kept insisting they have nothing to hide; that they are innocent. So why does the Prime Minister desist from publishing the entire report of the Egrant inquiry, of which he has a copy?

Of course, the real test of a Prime Minister’s integrity is when crooked politicians are dumped once and for all into obscurity.

But back to Sant. Now that the European Parliament elections are a few weeks away, he sure would like to be elected again. He is hungry for that MEP seat and for that salary.
