Cristiano Ronaldo has assured Juventus fans that he will back on the pitch in time for their Champions League quarter final against Ajax.
Ronaldo, 34, went off injured after 30 minutes in Portugal’s Euro 2020 qualifier against Serbia on Tuesday. The star striker pulled up while chasing a ball with a suspected thigh strain.
Portugal ended up drawing the match 1-1 and now have just two points after two qualifiers.
Juventus fans are pinning their Champions League hopes on the superstar, and in a post-match interview Ronaldo reassured them that they should not be overly concerned.
“I’m not worried,” he said. “I know my body. I’ll be back on the pitch in a couple of weeks”.
A definitive prognosis is expected later on Wednesday after he undergoes medical tests.
Ajax will host Juventus for the first leg of the Champions League quarterfinal on April 10, with the return leg in Turin six days later.
