A 28-hour-long live radio broadcast took place in February, whereby listeners were encouraged to call and donate money towards the Terry Time Foundation. The trust hopes to raise €500,000 to help fund radio personality Terry Farrugia’s cancer treatment. The sum of €5,407.92 was collected in just 28 hours.

The special show, hosted by Daniel and Ylenia, started at 6.30am on a Friday, with the duo broadcasting non-stop all day and all night till the following day at 10am. The show featured competitions, music and lots of special guests and personalities.

“As a station, we saw the long and difficult battle being fought by our former colleague Terry and decided we had to do something to help,” said station manager Andrew Zammit.

“I have to say that Daniel, Ylenia and the rest of our team did a sterling job. Their professionalism and determination to succeed in this fundraising effort was impressive, especially when one considers that the task at hand becomes cumulatively more complex as exhaustion starts setting in.

“Last but certainly not least, I would like to thank all of our loyal listeners for donating so generously. Thank you for listening and keeping the team going with continuous messages of encouragement.”
