The Malta Stock Exchange Institute has been licensed as a further education institution by the National Commission for Further and Higher Education.
This achievement follows the Institute’s first two years’ of operation, during which it offered more than 140 courses to almost 1,800 students.
The MSE Institute specialises in short courses on a range of subjects, ranging from Introduction to the Capital Markets, Compliance Monitoring and Reporting, and Company Law Fundamentals to more specialised courses on Portfolio Risk Management and Fundamentals of Financial Markets Risk Management.
MSE chairman Joseph Portelli said that setting up the institute was an important part of the capital markets strategic development plan since it created a platform from where to increase financial literacy among retail investors as well as training in specialised and topical subjects for many financial services practitioners.
The licence will provide the impetus to design and offer more accredited courses that would primarily be aimed at the financial services sector.
The institute is licensed to offer the Award in Securities Analysis and Portfolio Management, which has been accredited to MQF level 4.
