Listening to the speeches made by Nationalist Party candidates for the European Parliament election on May 25, I believe many voters who may have been considering voting for them must have been disillusioned in a big way. They may now be considering staying at home on May 25, if not deciding to vote for Labour candidates.

Each one of the PN candidates has made it crystal clear that, if elected, they would continue on the same path of David Casa, Roberta Metsola and Francis Zammit Dimech. Which is that of giving a very bad name to our country, thus hoping to bring Malta’s economy to crash, as PN exponent Godfrey Leone Ganado had revealed. They seem to believe this is the only hope for the PN to have a chance of winning an election in the foreseeable future.

Lawrence Gonzi had once told the US Ambassador his choice for a Cabinet post from within the parliamentary group was very limited. Adrian Delia’s choice for the European Parliament election is much worse. While the Labour list of candidates has a wealth of talent and experience, the PN’s list is conspicuous for its mediocrity. No wonder the latest public opinion surveys published on March 3 by MaltaToday and It-Torċa again show Delia and the PN miles behind the Prime Minister and the PL.

And, yet, on the same day these surveys were published, Delia continued painting the darkest picture of our country hoping to scare voters from voting Labour. Instead, he keeps scaring more voters from voting for him and the PN.
