Faroes Islands coach Lars Olsen has named a 20-man squad for their opening two Euro 2020 qualifiers against Malta and Romania this month. 

The Euro 1992 winner has selected the majority of the players who formed part of the squad that feature in their UEFA Nations League commitments, which included matches against Malta.

The Faroes had opened their Nations League journey with a 3-1 win over Malta in Torshavn before wrapping up their commitments with a 1-1 stalemate at the National Stadium, in Ta' Qali.

One of the new faces introduced by Olsen is goalkeeper Karstin Hansen, who is currently on the books of Faroese club Skala IF. 

Among the most experienced players in the squad are former Manchester City goalkeeper Gunnar Nielsen, who plays in Iceland at FH, 36-year-old defender Atli Gregersen, Gilli Sorensen of Norway's SK Brann and Joan Edmundsson, who is a centre-forward at Germany's Arminia Bielefeld. 

The Faroes will face Malta on March 23, at the National Stadium (kick-off: 18.00).
