Florence and the Uffizi Gallery 3D/4K: A Journey into the Heart of the Renaissance will be shown at the Eden Cinemas, Paceville, tomorrow and on Sunday at 8.30pm.

This is much more than a classic, 95-minute art documentary journeying into the Italian Renaissance through the most beautiful, representative works of art of the period. Through 3D technology, the veritable open-air museum that is the city of Florence can be appreciated for the first time in cinemas worldwide as a totally immersive, unprecedented viewing experience. The multi-dimensional, multi-sensory film ensures that the works of art speak for themselves with all the power of their extraordinary beauty enhanced by 3D vision.

Throughout the documentary, a leading Renaissance figure, Lorenzo the Magnificent, played by Simon Merrells, acts as the guide, delivering a stimulating and emotional commentary. He takes viewers on a virtual tour of ‘his’ Florence, the cradle of Renaissance culture, against the background of suitably inspiring music.

The documentary also features artistic commentaries by experts such as Uffizi Gallery director Antonio Natali, Marco Ciatti, superintendent of the Opificio delle Pietre Dure, and Arturo Galansino, director of Palazzo Strozzi.

The art documentary will be screened at the Eden Cinemas, Paceville, tomorrow and on Sunday at 8.30pm. It is rated PG. To watch a trailer, visit https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=7&v=1I9oAzFdfZE . For tickets, visit http://www.edencinemas.com.mt .
