Just as the letters column on February 16 was all about ethics and morals, a rare occasion, the issue of God’s existence erupts occasionally as an active volcano and steals the limelight for a while.

Way back, a correspondent wrote that “Nothing can spontaneously become something”. He is right but not if there is a creator. I have in mind unthinkable tiny objects and microscopic creatures to prove that. If I divert my thoughts to the wonderful, perfect mechanism, synchronisation and infinitude of the cosmos, I see evidence of the all-mighty, gargantuan creative power of God.

These little big wonders direct my mind to the path of a creator God before philosophers, physicians and geneticists assure us that believing in God is more logical and scientific than believing in nothing.

Besides, there are a variety of reasons to prove there is a powerful case for God. Owing to the advanced work of astrophysicists, we see God, recalled from exile, transforming Himself gradually into a state of hypothesis (the basis for one to start logic reasoning).

My rational and optimistic view admires life’s mysteries rather than filling the voids with quantum and big bang woo. In the meantime, we wait in vain for science to explain that biggest of realities – God’s existence.
