A technical committee has been appointed to study and prepare a legislative framework that would further encourage the introduction of environmental infrastructure.
Environment Minister José Herrera said this was aimed to address, among others, village centres and urban zones. It will consider the Green Walls and Green Roofs concepts in the issuing of permits.
The committee will be led by Ambjent Malta chairman Conrad Borg Manche. Its members are Ambjent Malta director general Herman Galea; Enviroment deputy director within the Environment and Resources Authority Darrin Stevens; Lawrence Darmani, representing Infrastructure Malta; and Alex Torpiano and Antoine Gatt from the university’s Faculty of Architecture and Urban Design.
