BRIFFA. On Sunday, March 3, in Melbourne, Australia, JOE, an exemplary husband and father, aged 95. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Maria, née Caruana, who never left his side, Sue, widow of his son John, Peter and his wife Diane, his daughters Marlene Ennis, Julie O’Sullivan, Annette Briffa, Michelle and her husband Peter, Vickie and her husband Luke and his sister-in-law Josephine, widow of his brother Gaetan, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In Malta he left his sole surviving brother Michael, and Lina, widow of his brother Frank, his nephews and nieces and grand nephews and nieces. A Mass for the repose of his soul will be said on Sunday, March 17, at 12 noon, at the Ursuline Crèche chapel, Karm Galea Street, Sliema. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

CAMILLERI. On March 4, at Casa Antonia, JOSEPHINE, aged 92, passed away peacefully to life everlasting, comforted by the rites of Holy Church to be reunited with her dear husband Joe (died 1965) and her beloved grandson Joseph. She leaves to mourn her sad loss her daughter Mary Anne widow of Ray Soler, Therese and her husband Lamberto Sapone, Anthony and his wife Maria Camilleri, Franco and his wife Rosemary Padovani Ginies, her grandchildren Nicky, Kurt, Simona, Ginella, Mark, Andrew, Mara, Hannah, Sophie and their respective spouses, her nine great grandchildren, her beloved sister Maria Camilleri and her sister-in-law Annie Borg, nephews and nieces, relatives and friends. The funeral will take place at 1.30pm on Friday, March 8, at the Divine Mercy Sanctuary, San Pawl tat-Tarġa, Naxxar, where Mass will be celebrated followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Lord, grant her eternal rest. The family would like to express their appreciation to the management, staff and nurses of Casa Antonia for the sterling work and loving care given to her for these last few years.

CASSAR. On March 5, at Mater Dei Hospital, JOSEPHINE, née Carabott, of Għaxaq, residing in Tarxien, aged 87, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband Emmanuel, her children Anthony Cassar (Assistant Commissioner and Musical Director of the Malta Police Corps) and his wife Mary-Lou, Marthese, Rita and her partner Mario, Mary-Anne and her husband Raymond, Josette and her husband John, grandchildren Graziabelle, Gabriel, Kirstie and Chantal, her great-granddaughter Hailey, her brothers and sisters Doris, Ċensina, Fr Dennis, MSSP, Salvu and his wife Mikelina, Emmanuel and his wife Barbara, Margaret and her husband Victor, Joe and his wife Frances, their respective families, relatives and friends. The funeral cortège leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow, Thursday, March 7, at 2.15pm, for Our Lady of the Annunciation parish church, Tarxien, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 3pm, followed by interment in the family grave at Għaxaq cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

DE GAETANO. On February 28, at Mater Dei Hospital, ROSE MARIE, née Delia, widow of George De Gaetano, aged 88, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her beloved children, Johanna and her husband Alfred Pace, Edward and Daniela, Roger and his wife Gillian, her sisters, Cynthia, widow of Lawrence, Frieda and Olaf, her brother Lino and his wife Christine, Olivia, widow of George, her brother-in-law Vincent and his wife Cecilia, her precious grandchildren Alexia and David, Krista and her husband Andrew, Karen and her husband Carl, George and his partner Joanne, Ann and her husband Reginald, Nicholas, Sandra, and her treasured great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital on Saturday, March 9, at 8.30am, for the Immaculate Conception parish church, Tal-Ibraġ, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 9am, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

GRECH. On March 4, at Mater Dei Hospital, JOHN of Birkirkara, residing at Casa Antonia, Balzan, widower of Rita, aged 94, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his daughter Doris and her husband Aldo, his sons Mario and his wife Anna and Albert and his wife Diane, his grandchildren Angelique, Arnold, Clara, Sabrina, Daniela, Matthea and Nathan, his great-grandchildren, in-laws, nephews, nieces and their families, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today, Wednesday, March 6, at 1.30pm, for St Joseph the Worker parish church, Birkirkara, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 2pm, followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, would be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Carmelina, his children Rityanne and her husband Albert, Charmaine and her husband Joseph, Maria, widow of his son Spiridione, his grandchildren Amanda and her husband Robert, Deandra and her husband Michael, Sean, Christa Marie and her fiancé Gilmore, Jasmine Marie, Francesca Marie, his great-grandchildren, brothers and sisters, his in-laws and their respective families, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital on Saturday, March 9, at 7am, for Maria Addolorata parish church, St Paul’s Bay, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 8am, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. SCHEMBRI. On March 2, OLIMPIA, née Caruana, of Marsa, residing at Msida, widow of Anthony, aged 90, passed away peacefully at Mater Dei Hospital, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her three children, Jennifer, wife of Raymond Aquilina, Philip and his wife Lorraine, Desmond and his wife Bernadette, her grandchildren Romuald and his wife Antoinette, Maria Paola and her husband Ishmael Cocker, Kristian, Annalise and her fiancé Daniel, Joseph and his partner Donna, great-grandchildren Alexander and Edward Paul, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow, Thursday, March 7, at 8am, for St Francis church, Villambrosa, Ħamrun, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 8.30am, followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. GALEA CURMI – PAUL. Fond and grateful memories of a loving father, today the 12th anniversary of his passing away to a better life, joining our mother Josette forever. We miss you both greatly, but the love and faith you shared live on in the hearts of all whom you touched by your life. Their children and families. A Mass celebrating their life will be said today at 7pm at the chapel of the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary, Balzan.

ZAMMIT. Remembering our dear uncle FRANZ, today the 15th anniversary of his passing away. Tony and Nadya, Eddie and Marie Lou, Mimi and Arthur, Sarah, Alexia, Lisa and Edward. Forever in our thoughts and prayers.
