A mathematics teacher who offered to hold a student’s baby child during class so that she could “take good notes” has drawn praise from across the world after a photo of him went viral.
Maths teacher Nathan Alexander made the offer when one of his students at Morehouse College, Atlanta was forced to bring her child to the lesson after being unable to find a babysitter.
“I’ll hold her so you can take good notes,” he told her.
A photo of him holding the child as he taught the class algebra quickly spread across the internet, with many praising the teacher’s dedication.
The photo had been liked 64,000 times and retweeted more than 15,000 times by the time of writing.

Among those praising him was his boss, Morehouse College president David Thomas.
