Following last year’s success, Malta’s unique carnival parade Ballu Tritoni is coming to the heart of Valletta once again today, as part of this year’s edition of Il-Karnival ta’ Malta!

The show is set to open with competitive dancing at 5.30pm, followed by live music by local band Brass House Unit, accompanied by local acts J. Anvil and Ozzy Lino. A number of top local DJs will then take to the stage, guaranteeing an electrifying evening.

The heart of the action takes place in Valletta, though various towns and villages across the island (see below) have their own version of festivities.

Ballu Tritoni is being organised by the Valletta 2018 Foundation and Festivals Malta. This event is being held at Tritons Square and is free of charge. For more information on Il-Karnival ta’ Malta 2019 and a full programme of events visit www.karnivaltamalta.org

Today

Carnival party organised by Żejtun local council at Żejtun Kids Club, Ġnien San Girgor, Żejtun between 2.30 and 4.30pm.

Carnival parade and spectacle organised by Birżebbuġa local council, with the participation of the two local bands and various carnival groups.

The parade starts at 4.30pm from Żarenu Dalli Street, goes to Church Square, Żurrieq Street, St John’s Street, St Francis Xavier Street, St Philip Street and Pretty Bay and ending in front of the Greek Theatre, Pretty Bay, Birżebbuġa.

Afterwards a carnival spectacle will be held at the Greek Theatre, with the participation of various dance groups and music.

Tomorrow

Carnival spectacle organised by Dingli local council at Misraħ Ġużè Abela, Dingli between 10am and 12.30pm.

Carnival run/marathon with costumes organised by Għaxaq local council in Għaxaq from 10.30am.
 
Carnival spectacle featuring dance, singing and bands organised by Għaxaq local council at Għaxaq Square from 7pm.

Marsaxlokk Carnival 2019 organised by Marsaxlokk local council at Main Square, between 11.30am and 2.30pm.
