The man who lent his voice as Freddie Mercury for the current ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ biopic, will be performing Queen’s greatest hits in the second edition of ‘Rock the Fort’ in June.

Canadian born artist and musician Marc Martel will be in Malta for the June 14 concert organised by TEN08.

He will captivate the crowds with such renderings of the iconic ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’, the adrenaline-pumping ‘We Will Rock You’, the euphoric ‘We Are the Champions’ and the soulful ‘Somebody to Love’.

The rock concert is being held at the Grand Harbour Marina, Vittoriosa, in the shadow of Malta’s most imposing fortification, Fort St Angelo. The event is once again being organized in aid of The Marigold Foundation.

The 42-year-old singer is a vocal doppelgänger for the Queen frontman. That is a gift that has led Martel, formerly the leader of the Christian band ‘Downhere’ in Canada, to a second career in recent years. Martel admits that it’s not the life that he planned, but it has landed him on ‘American Idol’ and in front of crowds of thousands worldwide.

Described by Queen’s official drummer Roger Taylor as "that voice … you listen, close your eyes and you think it's Freddie", Martel has excellent worldwide reviews from artists in the music industry. In August 2017 he enthralled Celine Dion in a rendition of ‘Somebody to Love’. The video on YouTube got more than 6 million views.
