There are many pictures to testify to the strength of the storm which hit Malta on Sunday - but this one captures in a very different way.

The Seismic Monitoring Station at the University of Malta was able to see the surge on its monitors, which picked up the activity in a very visual trace.

The winds had abated slightly by Monday morning but the Meteorological Office still had a gregale advisory in force and the winds were expected to remain at Force 6/7 until 9am on Monday.
