Classical romantic movies portray the main character catching the other person’s gaze from across the room, falling in love instantly, going out on a first date and living happily ever after. If you have been single for quite some time and wondering where the person of your dreams is hiding, you might easily be caught in a situation where you meet someone and instantly feel that love connection.

Before planning to send out wedding invitations after your first date, what some might call love is essentially a major crush, or lust based reactions, especially if you have celebrated quite a few Valentine’s evenings on your own. In most cases, factors ranging from olfactory reactions to good looks come into play when finding your partner. The reality is that lust is important for us to be attracted to our other half, but we have to distinguish between being smitten and completely and utterly head over heels in love with someone. This is but the first step of what can turn out to be the love of your life.

Life with your partner should include plenty of romance, but one should be wary of unrealistic fairy tales.

Falling in love is only the first stage of a relationship and this will eventually change to a more secure love. Whatever stage you are at enjoy it, but make sure to not let love blind you with unrealistic expectations!
