The fracas of the teenager’s father who attacked a student at Pembroke secondary school, also injuring two educators, when he was called to meet school authorities over a fight his son had with another boy, could have been avoided.
It was a big mistake by the school authorities to hold a meeting for the parents without the presence of a police officer.
The report also states that the tension between the two boys had been going on for some time, indicating the carelessness of school staff who do not take immediate action once they get to know of a fight or bullying between students.
Teachers should encourage students to report any fights or bullying that go on inside and outside of schools. The turning of a blind eye by school staff and students is what helps aggravate the situation.
