To coincide with St Valentine’s Day on Thursday, the National Museum of Archaeology in Republic Street, Valletta, is displaying its Embracing Couple figurine in the museum’s lobby from today to February 17. To date, this unique figure is the only artefact found in Malta from the Neolithic period (5,200 to 2,500 BC) that shows human emotions immortalised through artistic expression. It may be viewed free of charge from 8am to 5pm.
