BUSUTTIL LINWOOD. A new cheek to kiss, a new child to love, NEIL, born on January 28 at Mater Dei Hospital. A welcome son to Dorianne née Saliba and Aaron, and a brother to Enna and Nora. Special thanks to all the caring staff at the Delivery Suite and Obstetrics Ward 3. Deo gratias et Mariæ.

Obituaries

BUTTIGIEG. On January 27, JOSEPH A., of South Bend, Indiana, USA, aged 71, passed peacefully away. He will be greatly missed by his wife J. Anne Montgomery, his son Peter and husband Chasten, his siblings Marcette, Grace, Marika, Franco and his wife Nancy, John and his wife Kay, Myriam, Lucienne and partner Vanda, nephews and nieces, relatives and friends. A private funeral has taken place. A memorial service will be held at a later date. May the Lord grant him eternal rest.

CAMILLERI. On February 1, CARMEN, passed peacefully away on her 91st birthday, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She will always be loved and remembered by her daughters Dorothy and her husband Edmund Azzopardi, Adolpha and her husband Joseph Grima, her grandchildren Erika and her husband David Galea, Simone and her partner Prof. Duncan Camilleri, Joanne, Veronique, Sabrina and their families, her great-grandchildren, her brother Joseph and his wife Doris, her sister Lucy and her husband Con Desira and her brother Gordon and numerous cousins residing in Australia, Joseph Borda and his wife Betty residing in the US, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital on Tuesday, February 5 at 1.30pm for Our Lady of Mount Carmel parish church, Balluta where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2pm followed by private interment at St Lawrence cemetery, Vittoriosa. No flowers by request but donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siggiewi, will be greatly appreciated.

CASSAR TORREGGIANI. On January 26, at his home in Wicklow, Ireland, Chev. Dr FERDINAND CASSAR TORREGGIANI, aged 83, after a long illness borne with Christian fortitude and comforted by the rites of Holy Church. A much-loved husband, father, grandfather and doctor, he leaves to mourn his loss his dedicated and loving wife Ann, his children Suzanne and Fergus, William and Martina, Francesca, Justine and Adrian, his six grandchildren, his brothers in Malta and their respective families and his sister-in-law Margaret and her family. The funeral took place in Tinaheley, Co.Wicklow. A Mass of thanksgiving will take place in Malta at a later date. Eternal Father, keep him in Your loving arms.

FARRUGIA. On February 1, at Mater Dei Hospital, JOSEPH, of Swieqi, aged 83, went to meet the Risen Lord comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his beloved wife Astrid née Lloyd, his sons Jason and his wife Tania, Ramon, his grandchildren Naomi, Amy and Carla, in-laws and their respective families, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital on Tuesday, February 5 at 9am for Ibraġ parish church where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 9.30am followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Donations to Caritas will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

GATT. On January 29, at Mater Dei Hospital, ANNIE, widow of Walter A. Gatt, residing at Casa Arkati, Mosta, aged 96, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her great loss her beloved children Maria and Ben Muscat, John and Josephine Gatt, Edwidge Borg and Michael Symons, Christine and Bjorn Gillgren, Josianne Stottrup, her grandchildren Lara, Ben, Brian, Ian, Josef, Alexander, Mark, Annika, David, Jennifer and their respective partners, her great-grandchildren Jake, Kane, Kate, Luigi, Mia, Sienna, Lawrence and Rowan, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital on Saturday, February 23, at 8am, for Our Lady of the Annunciation parish church, Balzan, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 8.30am, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. POLIDANO. On February 1, at Mater Dei Hospital, VINCENT, widower of Esther, passed peacefully away at the age of 72. He leaves to mourn his loss his brothers Albert and his wife Agnes, Mary, widow of his brother Joseph, Tony and his wife Dorothy, Frank and his wife Rosemarie, Michael and his wife Marianne, Charles and his wife Vivienne, Dominic and his partner Josette, and his sisters Doris, wife of Vincent Zahra, and Graziella, wife of George Mallia, his nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow, Monday, February 4, at 8.30am, for Fatima Sanctuary, Guardamangia, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 9.30am, followed by private interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, would be appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

ZAHRA. On February 2, at Mater Dei Hospital, LINA, née Muscat, aged 84, of Valletta, residing in Guardamangia, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband Alfred, her children Joseph F. X. and his wife Lucienne, Marisa, Charles and his wife Claire, Stefania and her husband Simon Vella, her grandchildren, David and his wife Sarah, Maria and her husband Clive and great-grandson Luigi, Paul and his girlfriend Julia, Michela, Mark and his girlfriend Lara and Matthew and his girlfriend Judy, her brother Frank and her sister Miriam and her husband John Borg, nephew and nieces. Funeral Mass will be held tomorrow, Monday, February 4 at 2pm at the collegiate parish church of St Paul’s Shipwreck, Valletta, followed by private interment in the family grave at Santa Marija Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siggiewi, will be appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.
